The SAPP operates a public website that extracts data from the SAPP MTP. This website is used to provide traded volumes and prices from the different markets that SAPP operates without any data processing or analytics. Considering the vast amount of data that has been collected over the years, being of enormous value to prospective, current, and future stakeholders of the wider Southern African Power Pool community, the SAPP has the strategic intention to provide its stakeholders and interested parties with value added services based on this large database of historic trading and related data, as well as information on the near-real time trading activities in its various ‘live’ electricity markets. The SAPP believes that with good analytics, organizations, being members and prospective members of SAPP, can harness data and use it to identify new opportunities.
There are high expectations that the SAPP Market Operator shall efficiently offer data analytics services of high quality demanded and needed by the various target groups which are growing amid a process of diversification on the supply and demand side of the SAPP electricity auction market. Being aware of this fact, SAPP Market Operator is now making efforts to enhance its digital capacity to respond to those expectations promptly and meet high standards in a dynamic process.
